Bob Barboza is an educator,musician, composer, software designer, and parent of David and Cynthia Barboza. He is married to Jane Barboza an educator and jazz and classical music flute player. The family lives in Southern California. Bob Barboza is the founder of Kids Talk Radio,Kids Talk Radio Science, Super School Teen TV,and Super School Press. He is the co-founder of Youth World News with Lauren Elliott. Lauren is the creator of "Where in World is Carmen Sandigo."
'History:' Bob Barboza is an American of Cape Verdean descent and he was born in Providence, Rhode Island. He moved to California and studied at Los Angeles City College, California State University, Mount St. Mary's College,and California State University Long Beach. After receiving his master's degree in education he taught in the public schools for over thirty years. Bob served in the army as a radio operator and photographer during the Vietnam War.
As a software designer Bob Barboza created the company Super School Software. He designed and produced the following software programs: Lesson Plan Designer, Test Designer Supreme II, IEP Writer Supreme,The Super School Portfolio Assessment Kit and My Fantastic Family. His most recent software titles include: Journalist-in-a-Box, and My Family Secrets. Bob Barboza is most noted for his program IEP Writer Supreme which was adopted by the entire Los Angeles Unified School District. Barboza spent several years as a educational consultant for Apple Computer's software company, The FileMaker Corporation. Musical History
Like most musicians Bob Barboza played music in his high school band. Bob went to Hope High School in Providence, Rhode Island. He formed a high school group called "Jay Walker and the Pedestrians." The most famous member of the group was Jeffery Osborne. After high school, Bob Barboza moved to Los Angeles, California to study music at Los Angeles City College. He formed a coffee house band and played in Hollywood on the weekends. The coffee house band later became the group "Sweetwater." This group formed without Barboza and drummer Mario Parker. The Sweetwater Band went on to be the first band to open up at "Woodstock." Alex Del Zappo took over the band and the lead singer was Nancy Nevins. It was in Los Angeles that he formed the R & B band the Social Security Band. The band's name was later changed to the May through November Band, with soul singers Ron Knight and Ron Green. Bob Wolin played lead guitar, Skip Spiro Trumpet, Mike Morera, saxophone, and Steve Lawrence played drums. Tony Pretzello later joined the band playing lead guitar.
In 2002, Bob Barboza formed the Bob Barboza Long Beach Jazz Messengers with long time college friend Jon Hartman on piano, Michael Morera on sax, and Tony Pretzello on guitar. Bob Barboza played bass and later added Ronnie Ciago on drums. On April 17, 2004, Barboza wrote his first jazz opera, "Cabo Verde Dreams." Mike Costa told the story of Cabo Verde while Barboza conducted his new jazz orchestra. The performance took place at the Richard and Karen Carpenter Perfoming Arts Center on the campus of California State University, Long Beach.
On February 19, 2010, Barboza stated final plans for his second jazz opera. This time he made plans to co-author the second jazz opera with composer author Iggy Ryangoma. This new African Jazz Opera would be based on the Ryangoma's book, "Trial by Sound". The book Trial by Sound tells the story about how Iggy Ryangoma and family survived the war in his native Rwanda during the 1994 Genocide, and his struggle against post-traumatic stress. It is an inspiring journey into the mind of a post modern African philosopher of Peace. The combination of spoken word, American Jazz, and African Music makes the book come alive.
Kids Talk Radio
Bob Barboza went on a mission to find creative ways to create jobs for kids. He started out by hiring local high school students to train to become student backpack journalist. After training these students would stay around to become the Kids News Network and help to tell community stories,prevent gang violence, and give hope to youth in any way that they could. Giving a voice to the elderly through youth was Barboza's favorite project.

Bob Barboza is the CEO and founder of Super School K12 International University. This virtual university is the home of Jr. Medical School, Jr. Business School, Jr. Law School, Jr. Music School, Kids Talk Radio, Super School Teen TV, Super School Press and Youth World News. Students and teachers use custom software designed for the Apple iPad, iPhone, Mac and PC computers. These are distance learning program and intern programs in Long Beach and Signal Hill, California. Technology Projects:
The Cabo Verde Tenth Island Project (Started on March 5, 2011) Bob Barboza is the author and designer of the Cabo Verde Tenth Island Educational Project. This is sometime called "The Tenth Island Project". Mr. Barboza is the team leader and he is working with gifted and talented students from around the world. Mr. Barboza has created and international team of student backpack journalists. What is "The Tenth Island Project? Students from around the world work as a team on one educational project that helps the world to become a better place and to study STEM, STEAM and STEAM++ topics. All of the teachers on the teams are members of Super School K12 International University. This is a virtual university that was created by Bob Barboza. All of the students in the program can work at any of the following education departments: Jr. Business School, Jr. Law School, Jr. Medical School, Jr. Law School, Jr. Engineering School, Jr. Music School, Kids Talk Radio, Super School Teen TV, and Super School Press. Bob Barboza is the founder of Super School K12 International University and is involved in STEAM++ action research for the School of the Future Project involving teachers and students at the University of Cabo Verde, USC Mission Science and Engineering and teachers and students thirty-four countries. On July 26, 2013, Cape Verde Consul General Pedro Carvarlho met with Bob Barboza in the city of Long Beach, California to attend a special demonstration of the School of the Future Backpack Robotic' Program.
Bob Barboza is currently the director of the new Super School K12 International University "Occupy Mars" school of the future science project.
