A man of many talents, Bob is probably most notable as the co-author (with Steve Long) of The Ultimate Vehicle, one of the Ultimate Series of books from Hero Games for its Hero System of role-playing games. He continues to support the system with periodic contributions to Digital Hero, the company's online magazine.

In the early 2000s Bob also gained some lesser notoriety for the "Bob's Computer" music project at mp3.com, in which he generated several original compositions and arrangements of older tunes using composition and sound-generation programs on his computer. (Though he plays saxophone, flute, and other instruments as well as singing and rapping, he neither owned the needed instruments at this time nor had the needed technology to mix the natural sounds onto his system.)

He is also an actor of some note in the local community theater scene. After making his debut at Corvallis Community Theater in the chorus of The Wizard of Oz in 2002, he went on to play the part of Arnold Burns in A Thousand Clowns, Murray ("the Cop") in The Odd Couple, and Behrman in An O. Henry Christmas at CCT. In 2005 he made his debut at Albany Civic Theater in Hamlet, playing the dual role of Osric and the Player Flutist.

Bob has also written several plays, and has a number of others in the works, all of which are still waiting to be produced and published. Most are comedies (primarily farce), though one or two are dramas at various levels of seriousness. Some musicals are in mid-development as well.

Among his numerous other interests are interior design, artificial languages, and forensic science. He is also a staunch (if mostly behind-the scenes) supporter of passenger rail systems, most specifically Amtrak.

He lives in Corvallis, Oregon with his wife, Colleen (and would very much like to have an Amtrak connection here -- the largest city in Oregon, outside the Portland metropolitan area, without an Amtrak connection).
