My name is Boomshakalakabangbang. This is my first year of my master degree, I am a new student at the School of Information Sciences at University of Pittsburgh.
I used to study at Wuhan University and major at Library Science. I like to study theories and technologies that can help libraries work more efficiently among our life and how can users get better services from libraries. And also, I have a strong interest in how to design a digital library. But now, I decide to change my major into a higher level to information science and start learning more about coding and technologies in this field. I am interest in human-computer interaction. I am a newcomer in this filed and I will try my best to achieve my goals in my master degree.
I studied PDA model in college libraries in my Bachelor dissertation work. PDA(Patron-Driven Acquisition) is a new purchasing pattern which can be considered as Demand-Driven Acquisition as well. PDA model lets users to express their requirements in making purchases for libraries, in another words, PDA model means libraries allow users to decide what they really need and let users get better services. In my research I mainly discuss about the possibilities of the usage of PDA model in college libraries.
