Menubook is a simple script that modifies the default Monobook skin to move the navigation toolboxes on the left side of the page to a set of dropdown menus along the top of the screen. This provides additional real estate for the articles, and is extremely useful for small monitors.

Features

[edit]

Menubook can easily be turned on or off, and can easily be customized to select which portlets to be moved into the dropdown menu. The complete list is as follows:

  • Navigation
  • Search
  • Interaction
  • Toolbox
  • Print/Export
  • Languages
  • Views

Extensions

[edit]

In addition to the standard features, Menubook comes with a small set of extensions providing dropdown menus for the following:

  • My Watchlist
  • New Pages
  • Unpatrolled New Pages (from the back of the log)
  • Recent Changes

Installation

[edit]

To try out Menubook, add the following line to your monobook.js page:

importScript('User:Bradv/Scripts/Menubook.js'); // User:Bradv/Scripts/Menubook.js

Remember to completely clear your browser's cache after updating by pressing Ctrl+F5.

Note: This has been tested with Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Other browsers may or may not work. Internet Explorer probably won't.
