After looking thoroughly into this I have come to the conclusion that there is close to no academic work on GG yet. Instead I will be using this page as a general place to note stuff related to the article

I am using this page to very slowly look through the academic sources, summarise them and eventually turn them into a draft. At this point, this is mostly for my own reference so apologies if it looks like gibberish.
People with genuine ethics concerns exist within gamergate but they're tarred by their association with a harassment campaign.
Instead of dissociating they deny the harassment exists and claim its all made up. These sorts of denial "create an atmosphere where bad faith must be assumed
Its harassment based origins "inoculate journalist outlets against valid criticism"
