On the 1st of November, 2018, I decided to become a Wikipedian. The reasons for this decision are as follows:

#1: The pursuit of knowledge[edit]

I hold the pursuit of knowledge in the utmost esteem. Throughout my short life, the Wikipedia has served as a companion to my curiousity. The readily available information contained on the Wikipedia has been critical in my development as an intellectual. It has thus become my desire to contribute to this noble project, and in so doing, aid in the development of the next generation of curious youths (as well as all living generations!).

#2: Preservation of the Wikipedia's integrity[edit]

I hope to ensure (to the best of my ability) that all information contained on the Wikipedia is factual, or at least reasonable. Fasle information is worse than no information. If a statement is not backed by a citation or reference within at least 5 days after addition, it will be removed by myself. Furthermore, the citation/references should be reasonably credible. The integrity of the Wikipedia should be everyone's top priority.

#3: Fun[edit]

Yes, I'm being serious. The activity of collecting and depositing information is something that I consider to be fun.

Personal information (but not too personal)[edit]

In the early hours of 26 February, 1999, Cameron John Thaddeus Tiberius Wilson (the first of his name) was born.

Of Nordic descent and latin influences, Thaddeus is very much your average pale-skinned fair-haired blue-eyed affair, with the characteristic long name to boot.

Thaddeus lives in South Africa, a beautiful country with a dark past facing many challenges (pretty much like every other country on earth).

Thaddeus is an native speaker of the English language, as well as a speaker by necessity of the Afrikaans language. Thaddeus loves languages, and possesses basic knowledge of 4 other languages, as well as adequate and ever-growing knowledge of French, Russian and German. (Some sagely advice: The only way to learn another language is through the pain and suffering of determination. Speaking a tongue other than your mother's feels as unnatural as anything on this earth. You gotta have passion).

Thaddeus is a lover of Science and the Arts (esp. Literature, cinematography and illustration), but doesn't really care for sports.

Thaddeus is currently studying physics, chemistry and biology.

So that's just a little about myself. Why was I referring to myself in the third person? I have no idea.

Goals[edit]

I'll primarily focus on the creation and maintenance of scientific and historical articles, but I tend to dabble in everything.

Lifetime Goals[edit]

I don't imagine that the Wikipedia is going away during my lifetime, and so I've set lifetime goals for myself, which are: The creation of at least 100 articles, with at least 10 each concerning Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History and Astronomy. At least 10000 meaningful edits to the Wikipedia is also a goal.
