History Of the Company[edit]

Furocity Radio was started in May of 2013. The station started off as a strict classic rock format station known as Flux Aura Radio. DJ Cody, known as the station manager, and partner at the time, DJ Woofy, known as the owner at the time, started the station with a co-partnership agreement. DJ Woofy Owned the name Flux Aura and the DJ liners at the time and also had the connections to the voice over talents. While DJ Cody was the main funding source, acquiring the stream and the rights in the popular 3D chat world know as Second Life.

In July, 2013 Flux Aura took an unpleasant turn as a disagreement between DJ Cody and DJ Woofy ended with DJ Woofy resigning his position with the company also taking the copyright to the name and all of the previous station identification liners with him. This forced DJ Cody to take sole ownership of the station and rebrand as Furocity Radio. In an attempt to cripple the station, DJ Woofy intentionally erased all the music from the servers. In a quick reaction DJ Cody loaded up several hours of music to his live broadcast software, known as SAM broadcaster, until he could reload the servers to become operational once again.

Many friends and fans of the station came to DJ Cody's aid in helping to rebrand the station. Skan, one of the many voice talents used in Furocity's commercials, is credited for coming up with the name Furocity. After a short brainstorming session, many names were thrown around as ideas for a new "furry based rock station". Among the names thrown around were "FurRock Radio", "" , and " " . After the name was selected, the re-branding began. DJ Cody began re-making station posters and advertisements with help from Second Life Club owner, Kiroja Fluffy, Owner of the popular furry hang out "GYC" or "Gay Yiffy Club". Kiroja helped the station with land costs and advertisements to begin creating some "buzz" about the new station "for furries by furries".

Shortly after the re-branding, DJ Cody appointed a new management staff. The staff included DJ Dustin, just a DJ at the time, he was promoted to assistant station manager in charge of advertisement and DJ talents. In August, 2013 DJ Foxxy, also known as Dj Allure and former owner of the SL rock station 97 Rock, joined the staff as the station manager. With a solid management staff in place, the station began to advertise in many clubs and venues in Second Life as well as searched for top DJ talent to help shoot the station in a new direction.

After Dj Foxxy joined the staff, she suggested that the station branch out into other genres of music such as new age rock. DJ Cody agreed to branch out not only to new age rock, but metal, alternative and grunge which created the format and sound you know today on Furocity Radio.

In October, 2013 DJ Cody appointed a P.R. Manager, Tobi Lab to head up the social media, Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr as well as to create the real world buzz about the station. DJ Cody also started real-world advertisement after commissioning an advertising image from furry artist Jailbird. after Jailbird posted the image on her furaffinity account, the image went almost viral being seen all over Fur Affinity, Facebook, tumblr, and several other social media sites. The station's ad can be seen on furaffinity.net, as well as in many con books or on flyers at furry conventions.
