TriStar Spring Hill is a planned for-profit hospital by TriStar Health/HCA TriStar Division in Spring Hill, Tennessee.

History[edit]

On April 15, 2024, TriHealth announced that it wants to build a hospital in Spring Hill, Tennessee with 68 hospital beds for $250,000.[1][2][3] TriHealth applied for a certificate of need with the Tennessee Health Facilities Commission for the hospital, if approved it would be built next to TriStar Spring Hill ER.[2][4][5]

On February 18, 2013, TriStar Spring Hill ER opened its doors to patients at 7:00AM.[6] Residents of Spring Hill when they need medical care that the ER does not provide they have to travel to Columbia, Tennessee or to Franklin, Tennessee.[4]

Since late July 2006, HCA Healthcare has tried to have a hospital built in Spring Hill, Tennessee.[7] The Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency approved the hospital and in response Maury Regional Hospital and William Medical Center filed lawsuits against the building of it. In early October 2007, a judge overturned the certificate of need.[8][9] In 2008, HCA Healthcare appealed to the Tennessee Health Services and Development Agency, which approved the building of the hospital a second time. And a second lawsuit by Maury Regional Hospital and William Medical Center was filed. In early September 2009, a judge ruled overturned the certificate of need a second time.[10][11] The reason why the hospitals oppose the building of TriStar Spring Hill it would raise the cost of healthcare and that they would lose money if it were built.[11]
