I am a college student that lives in the Pacific Northwest. I am a very shy person but very passionate about soccer, golf, family, and cats. I have been playing soccer since I was six years old and play for the college that I am attending. I also play golf and started my freshman year in high school. Fun fact I currently work at a golf course. In my life I have had a total of ten cats, and plan to have more in the future. Another thing I love is my family! I have a sister that is a year older, so we are super close! I also have eleven cousins, all ranging from age two to thirty-five! Family is really important to me, they are my biggest support system!

I am new to Wikipedia and I'm not really sure what I am doing. Wikipedia is a cool source that I am excited exploring it more. I have been using Wikipedia my whole school career and haven't thought about actually adding to it. I didn't even know I was able to add and edit Wikipedia. I could see myself writing about all my interests, especially the history behind them. It would be cool to research the history behind the things I love most, and in doing this it could make me love them even more!

Article Review

Cats are my favorite animal and I wanted to know more about them. I visited the “cat senses” page on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: lack of citations, lack of completeness and the age of citations. I felt like this page could easily be improved since it is just the basic five cat senses. The different senses are discussed but not in full detail, that could really better this Wikipedia page.

Lack of Citations

The opening paragraph has no citations and states a fact which is they are good at detecting movement in low light. This is not common knowledge so a citation needs to be added. This will enhance the article and introduce the page with integrity. Without a citation the Wikipedia page will seem incomplete and not a reliable source. Once there is a citation added it will allow the reader to keep reading knowing that this article is correct with supporting evidence.

Lack of completeness

Out of the five senses smell had the least amount of information. Even though smell is the weakest sense for a cat, I felt like there could be more information added. The information listed was very limited and not in depth so I decided to add a fact to this section. Something I added to the sense of smell was just adding onto a thought that was started.

Age of Citations

Most of the citations on this page were outdated. I feel like this page could be easily improved if the citations were up to date. Some of the citations are solid with facts but others could easily be updated with newer articles. These articles could obtain the same information but are better up to date, making them more reliable.

Summary

I would rate this page a 6 out of 10, because it has basic information about cats five senses, but needs more in depth details added to make it a reliable source. These changes will really help to elevate this article to be the best it can be.
