Alondra Cano is a community organizer, activist, and politician from Minneapolis, Minnesota. A member of the Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, Cano has represented Ward 9 on the Minneapolis City Council since 2013. First elected
Life and Career[edit]
Cano was born in Litchfield, Minnesota and spent much of her early years in Chihuahua, Mexico.[1] Cano became involved in activism as a member of the student body at the University of Minnesota, where she was arrested during a demonstration. Following graduation, Cano became an immigrants rights organizer and pushed for the passage of the Minnesota Dream Act.
