Waffles & Don Dog are a duo created by John Foster, Harry Bailey & Mannie Davis for Van Beuren Corporation and who first appeared in "The Haunted Ship", an Aesop's Sound Fables released on April 27, 1930.

Waffles:

Waffles is a tall male cat that would be an animal version of Tom from the 1931 series produced by the same studio, Waffles teamed up with Don Dog, your best friend; Waffles is a cat with a white face who wears a brown hat with a chocolate brown belt, his costume is a lime green one-string jumpsuit with a black button that fastens the string to his pants, in addition to having your golden brown shoes, Waffles also appeared in the book The Aesop's Fables Gang; Waffles' last appearance was in "Magic Art" on April 25, 1932, alongside Don Dog.

Don Dog:

Don Dog is a short male dog who would be an animal version of Jerry from the 1931 series produced by the same studio, Don Dog is Waffles' best friend, a cat; Don Dog wears a hat, suspenders with shorts, and shoes, Don together with Waffles last appeared in "Magic Art" on April 25, 1932, unfortunately in the sources I didn't find much about Don Dog, that's good, right?

All appearances of the two characters, Waffles and Don Dog, occurred between 1930 and 1932 in the Aesop's Sound Fables series, the total number of cartoons that feature these characters are six.
