Charles Martin Boyette- Born in 1984 at Pitt Memorial Hospital in Greenville, NC in June 11, 1984 to Chuck and Linda Boyette of Windsor, North Carolina in Bertie County. The family home was two story Tudor cottage on a few acres a short distance from Windsor. As a young child he attended various private day cares and preschools before moving on to Lawrence Academy, a college preparatory day school. As a child he early showed an interest in history and literature. Education was an important aspect of family life with both his parents being some of the first members of their families to attend a university. Chuck Boyette had a Bachelor of Science in Public Health from the School of Allied Health at East Carolina University and worked as a senior environmental inspector for the government of North Carolina. Linda Boyette obtained a degree in Home Economics from East Carolina and a M. A. in adult education from N. C. State University. and worked as a Family and Consumer Science agent for N. C. State University. In 2002, he graduated from high school near the upper part of his class in academic rank and matriculated at East Carolina University. As a teenager he worked at Hope Plantation Historic Museum as a docent/interpreter. While at university he continued his interest in history by majoring in the Bachelor of Science program in Public History/Museum Management. After successfully completing his degree in 2006 he entered the M.A. in US History Program at ECU. He is currently compiling a thesis on the subject of Early Twentieth Century Southern Urbanization. In 2008 he accepted a position as a Historic Interpreter at Historic Edenton State Historic Site as a historic interpreter for the NC Department of Cultural Resources.
