From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Credrupt is a word created by British Producers Charlie Brades and James Emtage in November 2015. Definition: to take the very thing that has given you a bad reputation and use it against itself.

It was first sited in a Huffington Post blog written by Charlie Brades in December 2nd 2015 shortly after UK Chancellor George Osborne's Autumn Statement in 2015.

"If you have lost your credibility in relation to a certain issue then you are morally bankrupt. Therefore credrupt. The public has lost faith in you in this area, meaning you need to offset your empathy deficit. The only way to do this is to make a gesture or donation within the same area that is in no doubt need of help."
