Image is a cultural organization founded in Florence in 1997 by the italian architect and curator Marco Brizzi. Image is organized as a research group focused on analyzing the link between architecture and media along with the impact new media had in the field of architectural design. It is composed by a multidisciplinary team of architects, historians and critics who carry out a critical approach to contemporary architecture. The purpose behind the birth of Image was to foster a meeting between different generation of architects and between professionals interested in architectural research and experimentation.
Cultural activity[edit]
«arch'it. Digital review of architecture»[edit]
The activity of Image in fostering the architectural cultural had a first stage in the creation of «arch'it», which was the first electronic magazine of architecture ever published in Italy. Running from 1995 to 2011, «arch'it» had the merit of livening up the debate on architecture in italian architecture il dibattito critico nell'architettura italiana [1]
and by giving to the youngest voices of italian architectural scene an alternative place of expression, alternative to the space given by the italian academy or the historical international magazines.

Beyond Media Festival[edit]
The critical reflection carried out on the impact of the digital media in architecture had an output in the creation in 1997 of the international festival of architecture and media Beyond Media. The festival has been running from 1997 to 2009 and through the years has become a punto di riferimento on the architectural video in Italy and abroad. A lot of experts international and of all disciplines took part to the festival and promoted the debate on architecture and media.
Other events[edit]
Through initiatives like this Image supported through the years the research and work of a broad number of architects, selected among those belonging to the youngest generation. It's ojective was to search, find and foster the most experimental visions on architecture, giving place to the newest way to think about architectural design. Image has been a major actor in fostering the youngest and more innovative italian architecture.
Image archive[edit]
Through the years Image specialized in reviewing and archiving some of the best world production of architecture video. Thanks to this activity the organization has been able to collect more than 3500 architectural videos, which makes one of the biggest collection worldwide. mage organizes periodical screenings of those video which are periodically presented during festival and exhibitions dedicated on video architecture. Image has screened the video of its archive in some of the most important events and festival among which are noteworthy: Architecture Film Festival of Rotterdam, the review "Living Architecture" of the Triennial of Architecture of Milan, the Milano Design Film Festival.
