Worakamol Satur (Thai: วรกมล ซาเตอร์, born March 6, 1995),[1] better known as Jeff Satur (เจฟ ซาเตอร์), is a Thai singer and actor.

Early life and education

Born and raised in Bangkok,[2] Satur is of Thai, Chinese and English descent.[3][4] He's the second child in a family of five, and has two brothers and two sisters.[3]

Satur started liking music around 9-10 years old, mostly listening to metal music.[5] He was inspired to take on music by AC/DC and X Japan.[2] He first learned to play the acoustic guitar, then studied the drums briefly before giving up.[5] In middle school he formed a band with his friends and started playing music seriously in grade 11-12.[5] He learned the electric guitar and piano before taking formal singing lessons.[2]

He graduated from the Satit Bilingual School of Rangsit University in Arts and Japanese language and has a bachelor's degree in Business Administration.[1]

Career

After entering the music industry through a TV contest, Satur auditioned at Kamikaze under RS Group,[6] spending more than two years training until he debuted his first song, "Broken World", in 2013.[1][2][3] When Kamikaze decided to close down, he was moved to The Demo label instead, releasing the songs "Miss You Like Crazy" and "Afraid to Say", which received positive feedback.[6] In 2015, he signed with Garden Music until the contract expired;[1][7] Satur then moved to Grand Music in 2018.[4][7] He used several stage names through the years, like Jeff The Demo, Jeff Demo Project and Jeff Garden Studio.[4]

In 2019, he decided to quit music and work at his father's business, but he met a manager called Pop, who gave him the opportunity to act in the short film He She It and compose a song.[3] "Comedy" was Satur's first ever self-composed song.[8] In 2020 he signed with Passenger Records,[4] then with Wayfer Records under Warner Music Thailand,[3][4] releasing the singles "Highway", "Complicated" and "Loop".[9][10] At the same time, he reprised writing his own music.[11]

Satur became known to the general public in 2022 after playing Kim, the youngest son of a mafia family, in KinnPorsche,[3] for which he wrote and sang "Why Don't You Stay".[2] During the series world tour, he announced that Be On Cloud would no longer manage him as an actor, while his music contract with Wayfer Records would still be valid.[12] In 2023 he subsequently founded Studio On Saturn.[13]

In 2023 he held his first solo concert,[14] and released "Dum Dum", "Lucid" and the English-language single "Black Tie".[15][16] He also ranked first in the Chinese reality show Call Me by Fire Season 3, winning two awards: Hot Song Performance of the Year and Singing Family.[17]

At the beginning of 2024 he served as mentor for Chuang Asia: Thailand[18] and released his first studio album Space Shuttle No.8, followed by an Asia tour in Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila, Jakarta, Singapore and Bangkok.[19]

In August 2024, Satur starred in the movie The Paradise of Thorns and sang the soundtrack "Rain Wedding".[20] He will also star in the TV series Vamp[21] and Happy Ending.[4] For the latter, he will also serve as producer, script writer and composer.[4][22]
