Mahindra Racing is an Indian motorsport team owned by Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra. In 2014 Mahindra Racing became one of the founding ten – and the only Indian team – to compete in the FIA Formula E Championship.[1][2]

Overview[edit]

Mahindra Racing is the only Indian team to compete in the FIA Formula E Championship. They entered the Championship in the inaugural season of 2014-2015 as one of the ten founding teams in partnership with Carlin Motorsport[3].

From the second season, the team, together with Mahindra Electric, developed their own electric powertrain, the M2Electro. Campos Racing took over team operations/management[4] The M2Electro achived possitive results, with Nick Heidfeld scoring a third place podium in the opening round in Beijing. Bruno Senna had a second place podium finish in the first of the two season finale races which took place in London.

For Season 3, Mahindra has developed the new M3Electro which proved to be a competitive package netting nine podiums, two pole positions and two fastest lap awards. These results gave Mahindra Racing third place in the Teams’ Championship.
