Mahindra Racing is an Indian motorsport team owned by Indian automobile manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra. It's the first Indian constructor to participate in the FIM MotoGP World Championship in 2011, the CIV – Italian National Motorcycle Racing Championship in 2012 and the FIM CEV International Championship in 2013.

Moto3 World Championship[edit]

In 2011 the Mahindra Racing factory team entered the 125cc class of the World Championship. In 2012, they raced in the newly formed Moto3 World Championship which replaced the 125cc class.

In 2013, Mahindra took its first ever podium with a third place finish at the Malaysian Grand Prix[1] In the same season, the MGP3O recorded top-five finishes in 10 of the 17 rounds, a pole position, three circuit lap records, and third position in the Constructors’ Championship.

The 2014 season saw a further three podium finishes, including second place at the German Grand Prix.

From 2015 onwards, Mahindra no longer ran its own team and concentrated instead on suppling Mahindra MGP3O racing motorcycles to other teams. Mahindra finished the season 3rd in the Moto3 Manufacturers' standings with a best result of a 3rd place podium at the French Grand Prix.

2016 got off to a strong start with Aspar Mahindra Moto3 rider Francesco Bagnaia securing a third-place podium finish at the opening round at the Qatar Grand Prix. The Italian picked up podiums at the Spanish and Italian Grand Prix before taking his, and Mahindra's maiden victory at the Dutch TT. Another victory followed at the Malaysian Grand Prix

In 2016, Mahindra also collaborated with Peugeot in Moto3, fielding two Mahindra-based Peugeot MGP3Os. John McPhee took his, and Peugeot's, first Grand Prix win in wet conditions at the Czech Grand Prix.[2]

In 2017 Mahindra continued as a Moto3 manufacturer. Its best result of the season was a 3rd place potium finish at the Japanese Grand Prix. At the end of the 2017 season, Mahindra, and its subsidiary Peugeot withdrew from motorcycle grand prix. The decision to withdraw was made so that the Mahindra Group could increase its focus on the FIA Formula E Championship[3]

Mahindra competed in the 125cc class of the Italian Motorcycle Racing Championship, taking its first win in 2012. Mahindra won the CIV Moto3 Manufacturers’ Championship in 2013 and again in 2015.

FIM CEV International Championship[edit]

Mahindra Racing took part in the FIM CEV International Championship (Moto3 Junior World Championship) since 2013 and supplied MGP3O machines to Team Aspar and Team LaGlisse to compete in the World Championship feeder series.
