Christos Stavrides best known as ‘The Special One’ was an 8 ball European champion. He was best described as arrogant by many but in a recent interview he quoted ‘ they hate me because they ain’t me’. On Friday January 12th he hanged up his cue as due to his loss by ‘Janice the rookie ‘ but also the combination of hateful and defamatory accusations by the board he stated that ‘ the passion is just not there anymore following with ‘ 8 ball is not a game but a competition for the masses ‘. Now as a retired 18 year old 8 ball player, Stavrides will pursue a career in snooker as it is a new challenge for him. Stavrides will be remembered as an ‘ almost Sir ‘ but definetely the best 8 ball pool player in the history of the game.
