Personal Life
[edit]I am a PhD student in Digital Media at the Georgia Institute of Technology, where I work as a videogame researcher, designer, and critic. I'm an infrequent game culture columnist for Kill Screen and Paste Magazine. I was a junior designer at area/code on CSI: Crime City, and I'm the co-author of Newsgames: Journalism at Play with Ian Bogost and Bobby Schweizer (MIT Press, 2010).
Why Am I Here?
[edit]The articles on game studies, digital media academics, and independent game designers are woefully underdeveloped, and I'd like to help fix that. As an Atlanta/Athens, GA native, I'm also a minor buff on Georgia's independent and folk music scenes.
Articles I've Helped Edit
[edit]Madeline, folk singer/songwriter from Athens, Georgia.
Articles I Plan on Writing

Frank Lantz, director of NYU's Game Center, lead designer at Gamelab, creative director of Zynga New York (formerly area/code), and inventor of the "Big Games" genre.
