[edit]Natalie Warne is an activist, film producer, and public speaker based in Los Angeles.[1]
Work
[edit]Born and raised in an underserved part of Chicago in a family of 5,[2] 17 years old Natalie Warne forwent university after she discovered the Invisible Children projet. She volunteered in Rwanda for what was supposed to be a 5 months internship but turned into a 3 years employment.[3] She then led an nationwide campaign called "The Rescue"[4] to raise awareness about the humanitarian organization.[5] In 2011, returning to the United States, she was asked to tell her story in Ted xTalk. The story, featured on TED.com had over 400000 views[6] and successfully made it to the Oprah Winfrey show,[7] representing the Invisible Children project. NPR also featured the story, as well as numerous news outlet.[8] In betweens tours, she lived and worked in Rwanda as a film producer.[9]
Natalie Warne gave over 200 talks in schools, universities and conferences, raising awareness about social justice and equity, as well as access and opportunity for all learners.
