James J. Bolton, PhD (Jan. 1977--) was born in Chicago, IL to James M. Bolton and Claudia A. Bolton. He has four siblings and several nieces and nephews. He attended Wiley College in Marshall, TX and majored in Biology. After completing undergrad, James enrolled in Alabama A&M University for advance studies, completing his MS in Molecular Genetics in 2003 and his PhD in Molecular Biology in 2008. He has worked as a Molecular Biologist with the government stationed at Cornell University.

Dr. Bolton has published work related to cotton genetics, and has recently had his dissertation published.
