MR MYERS

My Bertram Myers, better know as 'Mr Myers', 'Myers' or 'Uncle Berchel' was a Jamaican born self employed Barber and businessman by profession.

He was a well-known humanitarian with a patriotic way of life and always wanted to make a difference by supporting old & young, always seeking mentoring opportunities and networked wide as a businessman.

Early Years

Mr Bertram Myers was born on March 20th 1931, in Westmoreland, Jamaican to parents Katherine Myers (Katie, nee: Katie Hill) & Herbert Myers (Mas Herbie or Herbie).

Herbert Myers was a plantation owner, producing rice and Katie was a homemaker & mother to their 7 children (Adlyn, Breda, Altie, Bertram, Lola and Esmam).

Career

After lots of hype about his babering skills in the hair industry in Jamaica, he became a business owner at the age of 21yrs. The barbershop was in the heart of Savlamar Jamaica.

• 1982: Myers Unisex Hair Salon - Clapton, East London, UK

• He was also a sponsor for the radio station 'City Radio' and sponsored a successful football club, based in East London

Family Life

He married Rosetta Irving at age 24yrs. He moved to London England in 1959 and Rosetta followed shortly after. Together they had 3 Children: Devon (Anthony), Maureen & Jackie.
