Hurricane Jerry was a Category 2 hurricane which is currently a tropical storm threatening the island of Bermuda. The tenth named storm and fourth hurricane of the 2019 Atlantic hurricane season, Jerry formed from a tropical wave on September 17 over the tropical Atlantic Ocean. Favorable environmental conditions allowed the cyclone to strengthen as it moved westward, and Jerry became a hurricane on September 19. Early the following day, Jerry reached its peak intensity as a Category 2 hurricane, although increasing vertical wind shear caused it to quickly weaken afterward.
