Article Note
[edit]This is not meant as advertising/web hosting. It is an article to describe the past and current state of Solitude, a Halo mod of Quake for the Sony PSP and PC.
This article may have incorrect information due to this being an unfinished article.
Basic Overview
[edit]Solitude is a mod of Quake Z for the Sony PSP and PC. It is currently under development by the Flaming Ice[1] team, and is a completely user generated game. Solitude will take place along the lines of Halo: CE and continue the story in a new way. Currently there are no releases, but there are plans to release the previously postponed beta at a later date. This is a good and bad thing because it means more maps and a more polished beta, but it means a longer wait.
Solitude is not a simple reskin of Quake, but is an entirely new game using only the Quake engine. Solitude uses no "ripped" data from any Halo (series) game. All of the content in Solitude will be user created by the Flaming Ice team, and possibly user created.
Updates Information
[edit]As of now Solitude is developing at an astonishing rate. As of update 20[2] animations are nearing completion and music is being developed. Solitude is going to feature a full storyline, a possible first for a homebrew game.
Single Player
[edit]The story for Solitude has been kept under raps and has not been released to anyone in the general public. Only tiny details have been released, but nowhere near enough to get any type of idea about what will the story is.
Multiplayer
[edit]Not all of the details have been revealed, but the multiplayer should be similar to that found in Halo 2 or Halo 3. Currently there is only going to be ad hoc, with future plans of Infrastucture play. The multiplayer beta has been postponed do to life issues, but it is still on its way.
