Jan Handzlik[edit]

Jan Lawrence Handzlik was born on September 21st, 1945 in Los Angeles California. Handzlik is a father of three, lawyer, actor, and a former assistant U.S. Attorney in criminal fraud and special prosecutions. Handzlik is also chairman of the American Bar Association's White Collar Crime Committee.[1]

Legal Career[edit]

Early in his career Handzlik worked as a Law Clerk to a United States District Judge, from 1970-71. From 1971-76 Handlik was Assistant United States Attorney, in the Fraud and Special Prosecutions Section.[2] Handzlik Served as one of the first Foreign Corrupt Practices Act Law Compliance Monitors from 2005-08, and was appointed under a deferred prosecution agreement between a multinational company and the US Department of Justice.[3]

June 6h, 2007 Representing Milberg Weiss Bershad & Schulman class action lawyers facing indictment, Handzlik talks to the LA Times about progress in the proceedings.[4]

August 17th, 2007 representing actor Steven Seagal, Handzlik speaks to ABC News about the Federal Bureau of Investigation.[5]

Child Actor[edit]

As a child, Handzlik played "Patrick Dennis" in the stage and film versions of "Auntie Mame."[6]
