By vocation and avocation, I am a librarian, an editor, and a writer. My interests include Victorian literature, especially the great poet, Gerard Manley Hopkins, and an almost forgotten novelist, Evelyn Whitaker. I am also interested in the history of medicine and the biblical book of Psalms.

My purpose in contributing to Wikipedia is to introduce Evelyn Whitaker to a new generation of readers. I also believe that scholars will find the books useful as source material.

I collect novels by Evelyn Whitaker and information about their publishing history. I have developed a website which offers synopses of the novels, links to titles that have been digitized, and other reference materials including an annotated catalog of the collection: EvelynWhitakerLibrary.org [1] I also hope to make several of her novels available through Project Gutenberg.
