The world's first Basketball Bag was created by Curtis Medlen on his mother's sewing machine in 1993, after having conceived of the idea in a dream while living in Phoenix, Arizona the previous year. Subsequently, in April of 1994 Mr. Medlen applied for patent protection for his revolutionary new basketball bag design - which included innovative features such as the first ever ball compartment, insulated drink bottle holders, and other unique sport-specific features. He was granted a design patent on October 31, 1995 (See US PAT D363,600 at www.uspto.gov).

Mr. Medlen's Basketball Bag was very well received by consumers as well as by many global brands, including Coke, Pepsi, Miller Brewing, Sprite, Dr Pepper/7up and others. The Basketball Bag became an annual staple at Spokane Hoopfest, the world's largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament located in Spokane, Washington.

The entire story of the world's first Basketball Bag is currently being written, and when complete this page will be updated.
