  • What are your general impressions of Wikipedia? How do you use it in your personal and academic life?
    • I like Wikipedia, I think it provided readers with valuable accurate information. I use it more in my academic life to find hidden details or information to help me get a better understand. When i do use it in my personal life it is more for finding information about a subject.
  • How have you been taught about Wikipedia? Discuss attitudes toward the platform you've heard from past instructors and fellow students.
    • I was never taught about Wikipedia actually. Never in my 13 years of school was taught about Wikipedia. I heard a lot of negative things such as Wikipedia being a site with false accurate information, which should not be used in an essay.
  • What are your questions/concerns/interest in editing Wikipedia as a research assignment?
    • Some questions i had was how to find and use the templates that are provided. I had a hard time trying to use the templates that were required for certain weeks.
  • As you begin to learn the inner workings of Wikipedia, has anything surprised you?
    • Yes, actually and that was how neutral Wikipedia is. It shocked me how much they enforce the policy of being neutral site that does not want to be persuasive.
  • What do you find most challenging about contributing to Wikipedia?
    • The first thing I find it very challenging was trying to incorporate a picture to my assignment their are some many rules and policies with apply a picture. I had a hard time trying to a find a picture that will surpass these guidelines.
  • What do you find rewarding about contributing to Wikipedi
    • The fact I am able to gather data put it together an article or a blog post. some comes along seeking the information about a subject i have touched on and actually gains insights from my creation
  • Discuss the overall significance of Wikipedia to you and society at large.
    • I believe Wikipedia plays a big role in our society. it's like the first thing that pop's up when you search subjects up on google. It usually has an abundance of information waiting to be tapped. It allowed me to learn so much about an unknown topic. I have used Wikipedia since i was in middle school.
  • What did editing Wikipedia teach you about its educational, social, and political value?
    • That Wikipedia holds it self to a higher standard and those who decide to edit or create posts with in its platform. It provides quick reliable information for those who seek it. It also gives them the ability to edit that information if it deems to be inaccurate . Giving power to those who actually observe it.
  • What is your current attitude toward Wikipedia? How has editing Wikipedia affected your initial views about Wikipedia?
    • I love Wikipedia now after gaining the knowledge of how to edit and create post. I believe this platform is very versatile in the fact you are the reader and possible editor. The information is like constantly being edited by those who gained knowledge on that topic. Its not like the data has been sitting around for decades it is constantly being looked at and reviewed by others.
  • Will you contribute to Wikipedia in the future? If so, discuss the capacities in which you will participate.
    • I feel like i will contribute to where I see fit, like when i decide to look something up and realize the information is missing or is not up to date. I will decide make some changes to the current article by updating the information at hand or reconstruct the article to improve its overall quality.
