The Smiths[edit]

Hello,

I noticed that you added a ton of information (and new articles) on topics relating to The Smiths. Frankly (ha ha!), I'm amazed at how much work you've done on Smiths-related pages in such a short time. You've really enhanced Wikipedia's repository of knowledge on the Smiths by a great deal. Please keep up the good work.

Re: Devil in the Dark[edit]

It might have been Lt. Commander Giotto. Not sure. If you go to StarTrek.com, and look through the Library link, they have every episode listed and who the cast are. The only Lt. Cmdr listed for that episode is Giotto, so I'm assuming thats the one your asking about.

I get all my trek episode info from several places. One of the things that always bugged me is that there are dozens of Trek sites but none have complete info on everything. I combine several synopses I find into one to get the best detail. Unfortunately I'm finding one that I have been using is getting a ton of stuff wrong. When I'm able to catch Original Star Trek on the Sci-Fi channel I go back and revise areas that I know are wrong.

Thanks for the compliment. Cyberia23 20:10, 26 Oct 2004 (UTC)

Article Licensing[edit]

Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:

To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:

Option 1
I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

OR

Option 2
I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual

Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way

Please visit Flaccus (composer)[edit]

A template has been added to Flaccus (composer) seeking references and sources of the information contained in the article. Can you oblige? Cheers. Moriori 02:21, July 21, 2005 (UTC)

Thanks for asking. See the article's talk page. Curt Woyte 16:16, July 21, 2005 (UTC)

Philip Marlowe[edit]

Curt: Pic was on left because of a basic design principle. Mohr is facing right and looking right. Thus, his pose is a lead into the copy. Pepso 16:53, 8 November 2005 (UTC)

OK, see what you mean. I was worried about a more mundane, technical principle: the contents box, which always appears left-of-screen and which now, because of the picture being positioned left, floated somewhere in the middle, which is ugly and non-standard to me. But feel free to revert that bit of my edit. Curt Woyte 08:21, 9 November 2005 (UTC)

Ukraïnski Vistupi v Johna Peela[edit]

Hello, I have reverted your redirect of this article to Українські Виступи в Івана Піла. I believe according to the naming conventions, article titles should be in English, rather than the other way around, since it is assumed very few users will be searching using the Ukrainian alphabet. MC MasterChef :: Leave a tip 10:40, 6 December 2005 (UTC)

Hmm.. I'm not sure what the best approach for КОНЦЕРТ would be, actually, since as they mentioned on the talk page it's quite the linguistic tangle. In this case, though, where there is a commonly used English name that appears on the cd, I think it be most appropriate to use the Latin alphabet version for the title (even though the Ukrainian is the more technically accurate). It might be good to solicit opinions from other editors though, since I just noticed the unusual characters in the title when doing a bit of recent changes patrol and don't have a strong background in this subject myself. Van Abbemuseum[edit]

Hoi.

Reverted Velvet Underground redirect[edit]

Hi there. I change the "Velvet Underground" redirect page so that it goes to "The Velvet Underground" instead of the Millenium collection, seeing how many people are going to drop the article 'The' while searching for the band, and they will be thrown off by being sent to an article on an album that isn't even entitled "The Velvet Underground".--THollan 21:10, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

Need your help[edit]

Hello Cwoyte,

You most likely do not know me, but I've done some work on the "Low Germanic languages" article and I've come up with a sentence which accentuates the diffences between high and low Germanic languages more so than the previous on.Problem is, I can only give an English,High German, Dutch and Afrikaanse translation. According to your userbox you speak fluent Platt/Low Saxon. And according to that category, you're the one of the few registered wikipedian to be fluent in Platt as well.

Could you help me out and translate the following sentence?

 • Could you tell me what this sentence means? I don't understand low German languages you see.

Thanks in advance,

Rex Germanus Tesi samanunga is edele unde scona 09:50, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Thank you very much, I have a question though; I think "Platduuts" refers to "Low Saxon" not Low German(ic) languages the group to which also Dutch and Afrikaans belong rather than the dialect spoken in the eastern netherlands and northern Germany. Please tell if I'm wrong! Rex Germanus Tesi samanunga is edele unde scona 19:25, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

Ku'j my verteln wat disse zinne beteakent? Ik verstoa naemelik gin Platduuts.

Don't worry, "Leegduutse" is fine, most speakers of standard Dutch don't know (exactly) what it means anyway.

I still have 1 more question though, you used "taeln" for "languages". I was wondering, could this be a Low Frankish (Nederfrankische) loan to your dialect? Low Saxon wikipedia seems to use only "Spraak/Spraken". Rex Germanus Tesi samanunga is edele unde scona 13:59, 12 June 2006 (UTC)

VU[edit]

Hello Cwoyte. I apologize for saying that your original VU timeline was misleading or virtually useless. What I meant to express was that it was in the original form perhaps inelegant.

In the original format it seemed like an animal with a funny-looking tail, the tail being the Doug Yule era. Like many people, I tend to be prejudiced into viewing the VU as a Lou Reed project, dismissing the Yule years as an awkward appendix, but I should acknowledge that this awkward appendix is still a part of history.

The new table timeline is much improved, and I made a little comment on the VU discussion.

My father was born near Eindhoven, and I have a Schenkelaars Tenor Saxophone which was made there. Regards, Zenexp 03:49, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
