Kyle Newacheck (born January 23, 1984) is an American filmmaker and one of the creators of the Comedy Central show Workaholics, which he also stars in and directs. He and his fellow Workaholics creators Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine and Anders Holm form the sketch-comedy group, Mail Order Comedy.

Education[edit]

Kyle Newacheck was born and raised in Concord, California and graduated from The Los Angeles Film School in 2004 with a degree in editing; A school he would later find himself teaching at.[4]

Career[edit]

Immediately out of school, Newacheck was able to obtain a job as an assistant editor in a trailer editing house. He found a passion for being on set and eventually began to work on Independent Films, as this would give him a chance to see how things worked on set. He began teaching AV classes at The Los Angeles Film School, at the age of 22, as the school's youngest teacher in history. Prior to his school endeavors, Newacheck contributed to the creation of the sketch comedy group Mail Order Comedy, alongside childhood friends Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm. His works with this group, would allow him the experience he needed to become a director/editor for several companies and websites. As he continued these two jobs, he noticed that his students were having trouble finding work when they had graduated, which caused him to form the website Crewplay.com. Newachuck, along with fellow film enthusiast Ben Watkins created Crewplay.com as a social network that would be able to keep crew members connected and ultimately avoid unemployment for his students. A while after the launch of Crew Play, he and his brother Adam Newachuck were able to fund their own Studio, which they rightfully named NewacheckBrothers Productions. The focus of which was to be capable of handling most of the work-load for any production that he wanted to work on.[5]

Newacheck spends most of his time along with his partners at Mail Order Comedy working on their comedy central series Workaholics. Not only does he Co-Produce the show, but he is also the director and plays a main role in the cast. His character in the show, is named Karl Hevacheck, and is the main protagonists' homeless drug dealer whom is always causing trouble for the group.[6]

He has also directed episodes of Community, Parks and Recreation, and Happy Endings, as well as the music video to Childish Gambino's Heartbeat.[7]
