"He's a silent guardian. A watchful protector. A Dark Knight."

Welcome. I am DarkKnight2149 (otherwise known as DarkKnight2149 or informally as "Darkknight"). Having been a member of this site since early 2014, I mainly edit articles pertaining to fiction (especially, but not limited to, comic books and horror films). However, if I see an error (such as a typo) on random articles of any category that I just so happen to be reading, I may try to fix it. I also monitor articles, and search for and remove vandalism, original research, unsourced material, and other unconstructive edits. However, don't mistake me for an administrator.

Aside from the mainstream Wikipedia, you can find me on DC Comics Wiki, as an administrator at Gotham Wiki, Wookiepedia and as an administrator at The Human Centipede Wiki. You can click here for my real name and picture.

Last but not least (actually, definitely least), watch out for my evil twin on Wikipedia and my greatest frien-emy.

Article of the month (February 2019)[edit]

Always remember[edit]

Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. Rumours, speculation and original research are generally prohibited from articles. Reliable sources are always preferred when claims are made in articles and are often necessary. Edits are made under the over all goal of improving the site, not for personal/emotional reasons. Wikipedia is a collaborative effort.

Bold or capitalised words[edit]

Bolding or CAPITALISING words are occasionally used (by me) to add emphasis in a certain circumstance. Be careful not to confuse this with emotion, or anger.

Possible vandalism misinterpretation[edit]

This is very important! If I ever mistake your edits for vandalism when you are actually trying to be helpful, please do not hesitate to inform me at my Talk Page. This especially goes if you're a new user, so please do not let a simple misunderstanding keep you from editing Wikipedia. I do not believe that I make this mistake often, but this is nonetheless an important message to get across.

Words to live by[edit]

"If roles are described outside of the plot summary, keep such descriptions concise. Interpretations in the form of labels (e.g. protagonist, villain, main character) should be avoided."

– Wikipedia guidelines, per WP:ANTAGONIST

If you are wondering why I have reverted your edits, keep this in mind.

Edit warring is not the answer[edit]

After you have reverted someone once or twice and it becomes clear that there is a disagreement, discuss the issue instead of edit warring (unless the edit is vandalistic or otherwise not constructive).

WikiProjects[edit]

While I monitor and contribute to a number of fiction articles (primarily those pertaining to comic books, Star Wars, and horror), I am not a member of any WikiProject. As such, my opinions and positions on this site are mine alone and do not represent those of any WikiProject (even if I agree with certain WikiProjects on certain things).

"Vote stacking"[edit]

Despite an outright false accusation from early 2017, I do not condone the act of vote stacking, which WP:CANVASS defines as "an attempt to sway consensus by selectively notifying editors who have or are thought to have a predetermined point of view or opinion". This act is not acceptable and should not be tolerated, even if some editors falsely believe that I may have done so in the past.

List of articles I have written and/or created[edit]

Articles that I began or created that were either previously redirects to other articles or were non-existent. This generally does not include redirects that were created when I moved an existing article to a new page.

Essay[edit]

Wikipedia:Templates do not excuse citations

Full fledged articles[edit]

Disambiguation/Hub pages[edit]

Redirect pages[edit]

Explanations:

^ Pity is the sidekick of the Spider-Man enemy known as the Gentleman. The reason this redirects to Gentleman (comics) is because not very much is known about the Pity character and all of the information we do know about her is in the Gentleman article (hence why she redirects to that article). If anyone would like to turn one of these redirects into a full fledged article, make sure you have enough information so that it isn't a stub.

^^ Avery Twombey is the real name of the DC Comics character, Cypher, hence why Avery Twombey is a redirect for Cypher (DC Comics).

^^^ I created four redirects for the Dollmaker (comics) page just in case people try to search for the character by the name he uses in the Gotham TV series. I will not create more than these for, as that would be unnecessary and potentially overkill.

^^^^ Successor to the Dollmaker. Needs a redirect because it has been suggested that Dollhouse's section in the Dollmaker (comics) article be split into its own article. Dollhouse obviously is a different moniker than "Dollmaker", hence another reason for the redirect.

^^^^^ Previously a redirect for another article. Later turned into a full article by another user.

^^^^^^ Redirects to a page about a fictional character that has been marketed as "the Bride of Hannibal."

^^^^^^^ Eduardo Flamingo is the real name of the Flamingo, a fictional character.

^^^^^^^^ Mr Stacey Boss is a fictional recurring character in IZombie.

Off-Wiki recognition[edit]

  • An article I worked substantially on, Hellraiser: Judgment, was seemingly helpful to the professional news site Forbes. In their review for the Judgment film, they prominently referenced sections from the article. It's this sort of thing that reminds us why we do what we do to provide a well-researched, and well-cited encyclopedia for thousands of readers. The Forbes article also goes on to say about the page "I presume [it] was written by the filmmakers themselves...", which is probably a testament to how closely I had been following the film and the filmmakers in order to flesh out the article. I guess I'll take that as a compliment, though this is probably the funniest indirect WP:COI accusation you will ever see.
  • Media organisation Birth.Death.Movies also commended the work done on Hellraiser: Judgment (which I was the top contributor), stating "A look at the film's Wikipedia page reveals that this installment's been in the works for hot minute, and that whoever's keeping tabs on the Hellraiser series for Wikipedia is doing a bang-up job."

Sources to avoid when using citations[edit]

  • IMDB
  • Other wiki sites
  • Retailers like Amazon (they are unreliable sources for release dates)
  • ComicBookMovie.com (except when they conduct genuine interviews or release confirmed scoops)
  • Comic Vine
  • Comic Book DB
  • Blogs, forums, and comment sections
  • Rumour or click bait websites such as Latino Review
  • Fanmade or unprofessional websites
  • Unreliable news sites in general (example: MoviePilot.com)
  • Biased sources (except when primary sources are needed)
  • Bleeding Cool
