David Donohue was born in Townsville Queensland in 1963, attending Ignatius Park College before gaining an initial undergraduate degree from the Capricornia Institute of Advanced Education (now CQ University). He is a Fellow of the Institute of Managers and Leaders, Fellow of the Public Relations Institute of Australia and a Graduate Member of the Institute of Company Directors. After a varied career in journalism and corporate communications he devotes most of his time to pro bono work as Chairman of The Good Shepherd Home[2] (a major residential aged care facility) and supporting Regional Development Australia[3] as A/Chairman for North and West Queensland.

David enjoys supporting emerging professionals and sits on academic panels for University of Southern Queensland, CQ University and Universitas Trisakti.

He is married and has one son. Unlike his famous namesake[4], he does not drive race cars.

He likes understanding and solving real-life puzzles and interesting people of all types:

An ongoing puzzle for him is how to convince policy makers of the merits of investing in inland road networks to relieve the strain on congested coastal highways[5].

One of the interesting people has has met (originally through high school) is computer engineer and scientist Noel Lovisa who is developing an amazing concept called Emergent Coding. David intends to try to understand the concept further and then publish a precise on Wikipedia. David has no contractual arrangement with Noel or his company beyond occasionally accepting coffee or a meal in exchange for conversation and advice.
