DAVID GRAHAM

David Graham is a theatre producer in the United Kingdom. He was born in Rossett near Wrexham, North Wales on 27 March 1955. He attended Wales' oldest grammar school, Ruabon Grammar School for Boys (founded 1575), and then the University of Wales in Swansea where he gained a BA degree in English and Drama.

Subsequently he worked at a number of repertory theatres, including The Haymarket, Leicester, The Connaught Theatre, Worthing, Liverpool Playhouse and The Library Theatre, Manchester as an actor, theatre manager and director. After a few years as a theatre agent he moved into production in the mid-1990s. His first production, The Wonderful West End, was a touring compilation West End musicals production and the first of its type. Subsequent productions included the touring rock and roll musicals Tutti Frutti and Great Balls Of Fire (which played at the Lyric Theatre in London), Victoria Wood's Talent and Alan Ayckbourn's Absent Friends amidst a host of other musicals and plays.

In 2009 he produced the stage version of Victoria Wood's Dinnerladies which toured for four years and has been followed by a number of other adaptations of TV comedies, including Keeping Up Appearances, Birds Of A Feather, Heartbeat and Rising Damp - the genre for which he is now best known.

He also produces, directs and appears in a series of 60s musicals at the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme the first of which was in 1999. There are now two of these each year and the most recent, Eric Of Dock Green, was the 35th such production.

David Graham is also heavily involved in corporate entertainment which he regularly produces in this country, Europe and Dubai.
