David Abbay-Bowen...aka Dave Bowen.

Dave is recognised in UK radio as one of the industries most experienced and original talents, starting his professional radio career in 1974 as one of the pioneers of British commercial radio. Four decades later he remains active as a free-lance writer/contributor for the BBC and Media Director with the Global Hope Group.

He has worked as Presenter, Producer, Journalist, Group Programme Director and Consultant to some of the biggest names in UK radio, such as Capital Radio, GWR, GCap and the Guardian Media Group. He is listed in Debretts People of Today for his work in radio and as one of the 16 members of the USA/UK Radio Alliance.

Dave was co-founder and European Operations Director of Bowen Sklar Programming along with Rick Sklar, the author and US legendary programmer, with client stations including NRJ (Paris) WNSR (New York), Magic 105 (Philadelphia) and KBA (Santa Barbara).

Dave has always been an industry leader, introducing the UK’s first all digital on-air library and touch screen studio playout system. He pioneered the countries first double-headed breakfast format and has been a Sony Nominee. As Programme Director, Dave holds the industry record for the highest Hours Listened audience figure in UK radio...a record which still stands today.
