Usage[edit]

Template:Db-2 should be used when you want to make clear that you confirm the reasoning of the initial speedy deletion or have additional valid reasons for a speedy deletion not listed by the initial speedy-deletion nominator. The use of a second nomination may aid the deleting admin in making a decision as to whether to delete the article. In addition, the use of a second nomination may give some information to anyone who might wish to remove the speedy deletion tag. The use of this tag does not guarentee the article will be deleted. Many topics deserve articles and articles can and should be rewritten and rescued rather than being deleted even if they and all previous versions qualify for speedy deletion.

  • {{User:Davidwr/db-2|comment}} will add a comment with the prod.

This template will categorize articles into Category:Speedy deletion-endorsed.

This template should be used to bolster claims when the initial reason may face challenge and where the original reason is actually valid. It should not be used to "boost" an incorrectly applied speedy-deletion tag nor is it necessary to bolster obvious claims.

Don't use this template on any page which doesn't have a speedy deletion tag.

Examples[edit]

  • {{db-copyvio}}{{User:Davidwr/db-2|Copied from New York Times, October 1, 2009, p. 3, "President visits Guam"}}
  • {{db-a7}}{{User:Davidwr/db-2|Claim "was a Senator from New York from 1836-1844" checked and is false and removed, no remaining claim to notability}}
  • {{db-hoax}}{{User:Davidwr/db-2|"Jack Ov was an astronaut from Ireland" um, nope. Checked sources, they are bogus, searched Internet, still nothing, name even sounds like a hoax}}

Do not use this on articles that are improperly tagged for speedy deletion, such as:

  • For an article that doesn't qualify for A7: {{db-a7}}{{User:Davidwr/db-2|no indication of notability for this article about a film}}
  • For an article that isn't an obvious as a hoax even after researching it: {{db-hoax}}{{User:Davidwr/db-2|I think it's a hoax too}}

It is neither necessary nor helpful to use this on articles that are obvious or non-controversial, such as obvious hoaxes, db-office, db-user, and the like.

Experimental[edit]

This template is experimental. For the duration of the experiment, please do not use it on files or other speedy deletions that are designed to last more than a day or which are likely to be backlogged. Because the template or the page will likely be removed within a day, there is no need to subst: this template.

Please discuss this further on User talk:Davidwr/db-2.
