The truth unfortunately is not a shade of black-and-white but with many shades of gray - that mark the thriving civilizations 5000-6000 years back; to the prophecies of Gautam Buddha and Jesus Christ that broke through the 3000 year depression and oppression that followed the great war of Mahabharata. The dark ages period that followed did not exactly describe history but a mere distortion that has now seen many corrections and reality. Truth is a factor that changes with time - it is expedient in the way of thinking - truth is never final; satisfies a period. A historian has to go by the facts, the truth is immaterial.
