My name is Dallas Hodgson, co-author (along with Lee Taran-Ozer) of Deluxe Paint/Amiga from version 4.5 on. Prior to that I was developing a modest graphics paint program at the Xerox PARC-spinoff company Metaphor, which was later bought by IBM. My most well-known Amiga tool up to that point was the shareware utility NewZap, which was one of numerous projects to grace the Fred Fish disk collection before the term "open source" was invented.

The Amiga gets the credit for finally wrenching me away from my LNW-80 TEAM computer (an insanely turbocharged TRS-80 clone) which I hung onto until 1985 because the PC wasn't as good! And ten years later, it was Windows '95 that finally wrenched me away from my Amiga 3000 (again, because the PC wasn't as good.) Notice a pattern?

I hold a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Music Engineering from the University of Miami, the latter of which was put to good use working on the Pro Audio and SONAR series of products for Cakewalk (company) along with several native DSP plugins, one of which (AmpSim) was co-developed with Line 6 modeling guru Michael Mecca.

In my spare time I've been known to compete in online music competitions and cook incredibly spicy Chinese food. These, and other personal things, can be found at: Dallas Hodgson's Private Island.
