About me[edit]

Hi, my name is Diane Milligan and I'm a Digital Assets Senior Librarian (one of two) at the National Library of Scotland. I'm Edinburgh born and bred, aside from soujourns in St Andrews, Hamburg, and Glasgow.

Professional info[edit]

I graduated from the University of St Andrews in 1999, with a MA (Hons)in Modern Foreign Languages. A couple of years later (2002 to be precise) I completed the PgDip course in Information and Library Studies at the University of Strathclyde. I have been working at NLS since August 2000, in various roles:

In the Official Publlications Unit:

  • Curatorial Assistant
  • India Papers Cataloguer
  • Curator (Digital Resources)

In the Digital Assets Team:

  • Senior Librarian (Digital Assets)


I gained Chartered Librarian status in 2006, and have been involved in committee work in CILIP special interest groups
