DOTA 2[edit]

DOTA 2 is a multiplayer online game which comes under the MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) category, which was taken out of Warcraft III where it was a community created mod. This mod gained more popularity than the main game of Warcraft III and it was made into a separate game. It is one of the games which offers the highest cash prizes for a tournament, the 2018 international tournament had a prize pool of 25 million+. The game concept is very clear, destroy the opponents base. The game comprises of 10 players and 5 in each team. Players can select a hero from a pool of 115 heroes. There are 3 types of heroes based on their primary attribute is. agility, strength and intelligence. There are three attributes in the game agility, strength and intelligence. If the primary attribute is increased in a hero their damage is also increased.




Agility Heroes[edit]

Agility heroes are considered the carry heroes or the hitters for they have minimal spells and high damage.

For each point of agility, a hero gains the following bonuses:

  • 0.16 Armor
  • 1 Attack speed
  • 0.05% Movement speed

Additionally, agility heroes also get 1 attack damage per point of agility.

To gain 1 armor, 7 agility points are required. To gain 1% movement speed, 20 agility points are required.

Strength Heroes[edit]

Strength heroes are considered to be the beefcakes or the tanks because of their high HP pool, they are meant to soak up high amounts of damage.

For each point of strength, a hero gains the following bonuses:

  • 20 Health
  • 0.1 Health regeneration
  • 0.08% Magic resistance

Additionally, strength heroes also get 1 attack damage per point of strength.

To gain 1 health regeneration, 10 strength points are required. To gain 1% magic resistance, 13 strength points are required.

Intelligence Heroes[edit]

Intelligence heroes are considered to be the mages of the game where they die easily but not before dealing out considerable amount of magical damage.

For each point of intelligence, a hero gains the following bonuses:

  • 12 Mana
  • 0.05 Mana regeneration
  • 0.07% Spell damage amplification

Additionally, intelligence heroes also get 1 attack damage per point of intelligence.

To gain 1 mana regeneration, 20 intelligence points are required. To gain 1% spell damage amplification, 15 intelligence points are required.
