St. Hugh's School is a British coeducational, preparatory school in the English village of Woodhall Spa, founded in 1925. It was originally known as a boarding school, although a significant proportion are now day pupils or flexi boarders.

The school accepts pupils from the age of 2 through to 13.

History

St. Hugh's School owes its origin to the Forbes family who founded it in 1925. It became a Charitable Trust in 1962.

Houses

Each pupil is placed into a house when they join the school, either Forbes, Kelham or Wheeler. The school has a house point system which gives pupils the opportunity to win house points through working hard (effort golds) or by contributing to to school life (citizenship golds).

Creative Arts

All children have art and DT lessons each week. They are encouraged to play a musical instrument and the school has two orchestras and two choirs. Every child performs on stage each year.

Sports

The main school sports for boys are rugby union, football and cricket. The older boys also play rugby sevens and hockey. The girls compete at hockey, netball, and rounders. The U13 girls are the current county champions. The children also compete in cross country and athletics. The school has its own swimming pool and is the regional champion at U9 and U11 level[2].
