The province of Hanoi (Vietnamese: Tỉnh Hà Nội; Chữ Nôm: 省河內) was a province of the Nguyễn dynasty from 1831 (Minh Mạng 12) until 1902 (Thành Thái 14). The province incorporated the city of Hanoi and its surrounding area in the Red River Delta, it was situated in the heart of the Bắc Kỳ region, which from 1883 became the French protectorate of Tonkin. In 1887 it became a province of French Indochina and a year later the city of Hanoi was ceded by the Đồng Khánh Emperor to the French as a city outside of the Nguyễn dynasty administration. Unlike the city, the province of Hanoi remained a part of the Nguyễn dynasty's administrative system and indigenous mandarins continued to administer the province while the indigenous legal code would continue to dictate all daily affairs.

In 1890 the Phủ Lý Nhân was split from the province to form the newly formed Hà Nam province. In the year 1892 the provincial capital was moved to Cầu Đơ and a decade later what was left of the Hanoi province was renamed to the Cầu Đơ province (Vietnamese: Tỉnh Cầu Đơ; Chữ Nôm: 省梂多), which in part became the Hà Đông province in 1904.
