Top ten reasons why WikiProject Historic Sites, which is to cover officially designated historic sites world-wide, is the most needed wikiproject in wikipedia, ever. :)

  1. To generate some balance for DYK!
  2. To form lots of narrow Anglo task forces, like historic buildings of Ottawa, Roman ruins in Patagonia, octagon houses in Australia, South Pasadena Historic Sites, California Historical Landmarks, etc.
  3. To travel to no.wikpedia.org, de.wikipedia.org, fr.wikipedia.org.
  4. To practice your translation skills, from and to. (Est-ce que tu es debrouillard?)
  5. To end the evil wiki-hegemony of wp:NRHP, spawner of such dab-monstrosities as Smith House and U.S. Post Office.
  6. To support lonely locals who could use technical help with infoboxes, maps, coordinates, photo uploading, table formatting and other matters as they document the historic sites of East/West/North/South Village, Our Town
  7. For fun
  8. To prove to the unconvinced public that even the (alleged) architectural wastelands of Britain have more historic merit than you can photograph in one day.

(Please add your entry here. Move it up in the list, if better. Or is down better?)
