Bio[edit]

A feminist killjoy and anthropology grad student who studies psychiatric nosology construction and trauma from the perspective of medical and psychological anthropology. I have expertise in medical anthropology, science and technology studies and critical theory. More specifically, I study scientific controversies in psychiatric discourse around issues of trauma and nosology. My quixotic quest to improve Wikipedia's representation of the controversial issues surrounding repressed memory, dissociative amnesia and false memory syndrome recently encouraged me to incorporate a discourse analysis of the so-called Memory Wars into my thesis, so uhhh.... thanks I guess?

What I'm Working On[edit]

Trying to improve pages surrounding the controversial intersections of trauma, memory and dissociation. At the moment that means trying to learn the ropes by improving the sourcing and accuracy of false memory, false memory syndrome, False Memory Syndrome Foundation and dissociative amnesia as well as whatever else connected to those pages seems like it could use some work. Also trying hard never to info dump again. If you see me getting long winded please feel free to give me a gentle poke, the academia brain-worms can be hard to suppress.

How Can I Help?[edit]

Always looking to help out however I can. Probably the most useful thing I can offer atm is lending you my institutional access. I believe in freedom of information and that the more peer-reviewed secondary sources Wikipedia cites the better. If you find something that looks like it might be just the right source but it's paywalled please feel free to drop by my talk page and make a request, I'll do my best to get it to you asap.
