Reverend Lawrence William Lakeman was the main character and quaternary antagonist of Poseidon Legacy. He was a passenger of the S.S. Triton, and victim of the sinking. He was a Reverend for the Donostia-San Sebastián Assemblies of God Church. He was played by FunBricks1.

Biography
[edit]Early life
[edit]Lawrence William Lakeman was born in Britain in May of 1950 to Reuben and Martha Lakeman. He had no siblings. He had an IQ of 82.
Lawrence at one point worked in a factory, causing the death of his friend Connie, by turning on the machine at the factory while she was still working on it. A different time, Lawrence accidentally left the oven on at another one of his friend's houses.
Missionary work
[edit]Lawrence, starting in 1981, began work as a missionary for the Donostia-San Sebastián Assemblies of God Church. He had a "bad track record" and got most of the biblical details wrong.
In late 1995, someone had to go on Missionary work in Athens aboard S.S. Triton. The head Reverend at that church, Dan Marillo, suggested to Lawrence that he should not go on the trip to Greece and that he should instead send Pastor Alexander. Lawrence insisted he should go.
Triton
[edit]Aboard the S.S. Triton, Lawrence, after being permission to do so, held a sermon on December 29 on the sun deck of the ship. Heather questioned him about why Jesus would need money from church donations, and pointed out that Noah didn't kill Goliath. When Lawrence reprimanded her, she gave her opinion that he shouldn't be a preacher, and should instead be a dictator. He told her that, due to being an alcoholic, she would go to hell. He then ended the sermon. According to Donnie, it wasn't a very good sermon.
Lawrence began watching a biblical documentary on his television, arguing with the narrator - saying that Moses was the builder of the ark, not Noah, and that the ark landed on Mount Everest and not Ararat. Virginia knocked on the door of his room. At first he believed she was a Jehovah's witness. After singing 'Take Me Home, Country Roads' in mockery of her unfortunate name, she asked when his next sermon was. After receiving her answer, Lawrence believed she was pressuring him for information that he didn't know. She apologized and assumed he knew how it felt, to which he didn't. But he did make some remarks about Connie and his friend's oven, causing her to run away.
During the party in the ballroom, Lawrence sat with Virginia. They held hands when Derek sung Auld Lang Syne.
When the ship capsized, Lawrence had at first held onto the railing, but then fell from it a few feet onto the wall. Presumably, he was knocked unconscious as he did not get up until later.
After the others had climbed up into the hallway, Lawrence followed up the rope shortly after, telling Virginia that it was too late for their survival, and he was not dying alone. He attempted to pull her off the balcony with him, but Donnie ran in announcing that a wall of fire was coming about to kill everyone. Lawrence tried to move, but there was no way to get out in time. He was flung out the doors and killed, his body landing on the skylight and causing it to shatter.
Lawrence went to hell.
Personality
[edit]Lawrence is an idiot who doesn't know the first thing about the bible, despite preaching it. It's very likely Lawrence was only a Reverend for money and not for the sake of being a preacher, as in his early life he showed no signs of being a preacher. He believed it was too late for him and the others to escape the S.S. Triton after its' capsize, attempting to kill Virginia so that she would live a good life in heaven.
Lawrence is very argumentative, and will argue with someone that can and cannot hear him. He believes any alcoholic, or person that does not donate to the church, will go to hell.
