EFRA European 1:8 IC Off-Road Championship (known officially since 2004 as EFRA 1:8 IC Off-Road European Championship for A-class drivers, in short 1/8 Nitro Buggy Euros or 1/8 Off-Road EC A) is an annual single-event radio-controlled racing tournament sanctioned by European Federation of Radio Operated Model Automobiles for 1:8 scale radio-controlled off-road buggies powered by .21 (3.5cc) glow plug engine. Inaugurated in 1981, it is one of the oldest championship of its type, predating all other national championships; only the All-Japan and the French championship predates it (1980 and 1979).[1]
Since the class was split into two license categories (EC A and EC B) in 2004[2], this article focuses on the former tournament for elite drivers and not the latter for drivers who have not appeared in the top 50 or an A-main in other classes; the "Grand Prix" for open entries[3][4] or newly introduced in 2015, the EFRA European 1:8 Electric Off-Road Championship for eBuggies.

Daniel Reckward of Germany and Renaud Savoya are the most successful drivers with three championship titles each, the latter being the only one with three consecutive wins; his native France is the the most successful nation with ten wins and Kyosho are the most successful manufacturers with ten wins.
The Formula One driver, Pedro de la Rosa in his youth, was the first back-to-back champion in 1983 and 1984.[5]
Frederic Veyssere is the only European (and one of three drivers) to score a continental double (EFRA Euros with IFMAR Worlds) in 1:8 off-road within the same calendar year.[6]
Format[edit]
Like all EFRA Euros, the championship is open to drivers from an European country who hold an EFRA license.[7]
Unlike IFMAR Worlds and ROAR Nationals, the main finals of the EFRA Euros are no more than 45 minutes long however
like the former, lower finals upto 1/64 are 20 minutes in length.[8]
A minimum of 140 drivers and a maximum of 180 drivers
taking place on (a recommended date of) the second weekend of July.[9]
12 cars compete for the finals[10]
starts on Wednesday with the race wrapping up on Saturday[11]
