Dr. Anthony Carter provides technical directorship for ancestry, relationship and life sciences genetic testing to Sorenson Genomics and Identigene, llc. He reviews all legal and non-legal casework and provides testimony as a court-qualified expert witness. Dr. Carter plays a lead role in the creation and oversight of laboratory policies, processes and procedures, as well as the research and development and validation of new/novel genetic testing systems and methodologies for all relationship, ancestry and life sciences testing processes.

Dr. Carter received a B.S. in Management Information Systems from Louisiana Tech University in 1997 and a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University in 2005. His research focused on typing large subfamilies of Alu retrotransposable genetic elements in the human genome, which resulted in the recovery of many markers that are useful for the inference of human geographic origins and human identity testing. Dr. Carter's previous served as Assistant Director at Reliagene Technologies, Inc. in New Orleans, LA, where his responsibilities included the research and development of novel identity and total human and Y quantitation systems as well as monitoring the daily operations of the paternity testing laboratory.
