Dr Andrew J See was born in Brisbane, Queensland on 12 April 1961 to his parents Jim and Rita See (nee Brennan). Andrew attended schooling at St Carthage's Convent Gordon Park, Brisbane and then St Joseph's College, Gregory Terrace and Marist College Ashgrove. During his formative years, Andrew worked in various public sector roles within the Brisbane City Council and Queensland Government. He then worked at Freehills Brisbane for four years, prior to being called to the Queensland Bar in 2002.


Between 2011 and 2020, Andrew held the position as a Magistrate in the Republic of Fiji Islands, where he sat on the Tax Tribunal, the Employment Relations Tribunal and the Customs Act Court of Review. In 2018, Andrew was involved in controversy, when it was speculated that his contract had been terminated following a judgment given in the long running ATS airport dispute. [1] The ATS dispute brought to an end a lock-out that had impacted on air services involving 200 workers for 33 days. [2]


Andrew See holds an Associate Diploma in Industrial Relations (BCAE), a Bachelor of Arts (University of Queensland), a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws (Queensland University of Technology), a Masters Degree in Business Administration (University of Southern Queensland) and a Doctor of Philosophy in conflict management and unfair dismissal from Griffith University.
