Diana Reser, MD, FACS, FETCS, FRCSGlas

is the first female Professor of heart surgery appointed by a Swiss University: she is swiss consultant cardiac surgeon specialized in minimal invasive cardiac surgery currently working at Herzklinik Hirslanden at Klinik Hirslanden in Zürich, Switzerland.

In 2017, she became the first female associate professor of cardiac surgery at the University Hospital Zürich and is only the second woman in Switzerland who has ever received this title.

Diana aims to encourage and help women to persue their dream to become heart surgeons, because it is still difficult to reach this goal in this male dominated speciality. Therefore she trains and prepares her students and residents accordingly and is very active for this cause within various organizations (Medical Women Switzerland, European Association of Cardiothroracic Surgery EACTS, University of Zürich, Young Swiss Cardiac Surgeons Club).
