- ^ A Jesuit letter dated December 1, 1560 mentions: "In January 1560, philosophy began to be read for those who had finished their lessons in logic: to three lay brothers of the house and to the boys of the college, eleven of whom are Malabaris and three external students. Father Francisco Cabral lectures on medicine every morning from 7 to 9."
