Vena Jones-Cox born September 19th, 1966 is the host of public radio's Real Life Real Estate Investing, a one hour weekly show produced by WMKV-FM in Cincinnati, Ohio and distributed around the world with a significant streaming and podcast following. She has been a full time real estate investor since 1989 and an author/lecturer since 1991.

Jones-Cox has repeatedly won praise for stressing ethics in business and investing. In addition to hosting Real life Real Estate Jones-Cox is the author of numerous books and home-study courses on real estate investing as well as teaching live, multi-day classes on the subject that have garnered positive reviews for honesty and forthrightness from such sources as Money Magazine and Smart Money-the former print magazine of the Wall Street Journal.

Life and Career Jones-Cox was born in Cincinnati Ohio. Her mother was Texas born and raised and her father was a Dust-Bowl baby from Oklahoma, later living in Texas. Her unusual first name is reportedly taken from one of her mother's childhood friends.

Jones-Cox began her radio career in 1992 at WVXU-FM in Cincinnati, then part of the rather unusual X-Star radio network; a kind of Public Radio super-station run by Doctor (Doc) James King. She quickly went from a half hour show on Sunday evenings to a full hour of afternoon drive time every Wednesday. The show was cancelled along with all other local talk programming when WVXU was sold and turned into a more straight forward NPR programming station and Jones-Cox eventually wound up at WMKV.

Program Style Real Life Real Estate is largely an advice show about ethical real estate investing. Most weeks Jones-Cox interviews a guest either national or local experts on some aspect of real estate and she has frequently expressed on air that one of her favorite things about being on public radio is that her guests cannot promote themselves or their products on-air, but must give information away without "plugging" or "hype". Jones-Cox accepts questions from listeners live via phone or email. The last show of each month is devoted entirely to listener questions.

AKA:

When presenting at investment trade groups as a paid platform speaker Jones-Cox uses the nickname "The Real Estate Goddess". It is common in the real estate investment education industry to use a nickname that describes one's specialty. Names like "Dr. Landlord" and "Mr. Cashflow" are common, almost required. When Jones-Cox became a platform speaker she needed a unique nickname. She explains, "If I had to have a silly nickname, I wanted one to trump all the others. No Doctor of this or Queen of that for me. I went straight to Goddess."
